Biografía
Since 1993, Prof Falloon has been engaged is plant pathology relating to soilborne diseases of potatoes. This has particularly focused on Spongospora subterranea, the plasmodiophorid pathogen causing powdery scab of potato tubers and diseases of potato roots. These studies were instigated in response to the increased problems caused by powdery scasb for the New Zealand potato industry, particularly the effects of powdery scab on tuber quality for fresh market, processing and seed potato production.
